The NATIONAL Average for financial aid packages is about $8000 according to College Board Statistics.*  

Which means, my clients' average aid package this past year was $14,574 per year -- that's a MINIMUM of $62,296 over four years!

 That means my families will have, on average, $26,296 MORE in their pockets at the end of four years of college than families who "do it themselves" -- that's $26,296 extra in their pockets that didn't have to be borrowed, that's $26,296 that could go towards retirement, grad school, another child's college education, a wedding, etc.  Bottom line, it's money that stayed in the family's pocket rather than the college's!

On My Kids' College Educations"

To Whom It May Concern: 

Getting in to the right college is a real journey.

When my son, Jon, applied to college he didn't have a clue what he wanted to do and needed lots of help.  I remember asking him if he wanted to go to a small or large school, in an urban or rural setting and he said, "Mom, I have no idea."  

That is when I realized we needed help!  We attended a free college seminar by Jean Keller of Keller College Services and I knew that we had found the help we needed.

As a family, we sat down with Jeanmarie to discuss the various options.  She spent a great deal of time trying to help him figure out his strengths as well as helping him find the types of college that would best suit my son.  She encouraged him to visit and helped him narrow down his search.  She had so many available resources.  

Once he was able to select a few colleges, Jean helped him with the application process, especially helping him with his essay.  Jeanmarie discussed with him the important components of his essay and then helped him to edit it before the application was submitted.

It wasn't just my son that needed the help – the financial aid forms were overwhelming.  Again, this is where Keller College Services was my salvation.  We selected the option of having them do the financial forms and it was such a relief.  I truly believe that the assistance we received made a significant difference in the amount of funding that we received for my son.  So, the extra money spent for Keller College Services was worth every penny.

My son was accepted into several colleges and Jeanmarie reviewed the financial packages with us.  I didn't realize that there were so many hidden costs and the amounts being offered really varied from college to college.  Evaluating the financial aid awards and having the subtle differences pointed out really helped us to assess the true costs involved.

My son is now a junior in college and doing very well.  He is attending a college he loves and it is one of the colleges Jean suggested to him.

My daughter is a senior in high school and we have once again used this excellent service.  The help she has received with her essays has been invaluable.  KCS also helped us with all of the financial aid paperwork – these forms can be so confusing.  

My daughter applied to eight colleges and having several different financial forms to complete has been somewhat difficult.  Being able to have assistance with the forms has made life so much easier.

"Are you prepared to plan and win at a game for which you don't necessarily know all the rules of the game?"  Jean says this often and it is so true.  Applying to college today is so different than it was twenty or thirty years ago.  We are fortunate to have help available to us.

We decided to get help with the college admissions and financial aid process because we were dreading the whole paperwork process.  We also needed to know what to do to receive as much aid as possible.

 Jean Keller and Keller College Services were so knowledgeable and efficient!  My daughter's senior year in high school was especially stressful.  I can't imagine what we would have done without Jean and Keller College Services.  Also, Jean is a very good intermediary between parents and students.

 We were first introduced to you at one of your college preparation seminars for parents when our daughter, Lynea, was a junior.

 Although she always has been an excellent student, she has a tendency to procrastinate and you were able to provide enough motivation and inspiration to keep her on task.  Your advice as to specific colleges and universities was extremely helpful, allowing her to narrow down her search and make an informed decision.

 For our part, your help with the financial aid process has been phenomenal.  We are both self-employed and work out of our home and found the idea of paying for college extremely daunting.  However, with your guidance and timely filings we have been able to take advantage of every opportunity for aid, grants and scholarships and feel comfortable with the prospect of affording a prestigious private institution as Davidson.  We know we wouldn't have done as well without your help, which is why we are opting to contract with you for another year so that our financial aid process stays on track and we don't miss out on other opportunities.

 Thank you once again for all that you and your staff have done for our family.  We have another daughter who is a junior and a son who is in eighth grade, so we look forward to beginning the process again, but with more confidence.
